Descriptive Statistics
A data set is a collection of observations on one or more variables recorded as the outcome of an experiment or a survey. It is useful to envisage a population from which the data are drawn, and to consider the data as a random sample which is representative of the underlying population. In organizing statistical studies various data exploration techniques for qualitative/quantitative data are quite informative for a preliminary investigation from the data set obtained.Summary statistics provides us with concise and numerical measures to judge the main features of a data set. Among these measures (1) mean, (2) standard deviation, and (3) quartiles provide a statistical synopsis of the data.
