Grouped Data

The data of one variable are often grouped by another categorical variable. Such a categorical variable is often referred as “factor,” and its values are called “factor levels.”

The following frequency table lists all the factor levels, and displays how the frequencies are distributed over different categories (or levels).

Having listed all the categories in the frequency table above, summary statistics are calculated for each level.
