Stem and Leaf Plot

When the size of data is small, it is useful to round numerical values of the data, and order them from the lowest to the highest. We often choose to round the data up to the leading two digits, which will be used in a stem-and-leaf plot. The plot is much like a histogram except it portrays a data set itself. The leading digit(s) of the data values become stems, which split the trailing digit(s) as leaves. In the following computer-generated stem-and-leaf plot the trailing digits are rounded down to a single digit.
