Placement Test Summer 2023
- This is an online practice version of the Mathematics Placement
Test. It is intended to assist students in judging their preparation level
for the following mathematics courses offered at Tennessee Tech:
- MATH 1910 Calculus 1 and MATH 1911 Calculus 1 Honors seminar
- MATH 1730 Precalculus, MATH 1710 Precalculus 1, and MATH 1720 Precalculus 2
- MATH 1830 Concepts of Calculus
- MATH 1630 Finite Mathematics
- MATH 1530 Elementary Probability and Statistics
- MATH 1130 College Algebra
- If you wish to take this test, please follow directions below and proceed through the five parts of the test. It takes approximately 40 minutes to complete the test.
- No record is kept of your taking this test; the data expire when you close the browser. You can take this test as many times as you wish.
Directions
- Placement Test consists of five parts, Part I, II, III, IV, and V.
- Each question is followed by five suggested answers.
- Select the one best answer to each question.
- Do not spend too much time on any one question.
- Be honest: Do not use a calculator or any other resources like books, notes, tables, etc.
- Suggested time for the test: 40 minutes.
